Dr. Prince Spencer, the "one step brother", as he was called by Redd Foxx began dancing with "The Four Step Brothers" over fifty years ago. Also known as the "Eight Feet of Rhythm" and "America's Greatest Dance Team", the Step Brothers presented fast rhythm taps, acrobatics, boogie woogie, jitterbug style, splits and flash tap dancing that electrified audiences all over the world. Duke Ellington brought them to the famous Cotton Club in Harlem and they were the first black attraction to play at Radio City Music Hall, Chicago's Chez Paree, Miami's Copa Beach, Paris' Lido, and London's Cafe de Paree. They performed for General Franco, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Ranier III, Princess Grace of Monaco, Emperor Hirohito, King Farouk and Presidents Eisenhower, Truman, Kennedy and Reagan. The Step Brothers appeared in over forty movies including The Patsy with Jerry Lewis, Here Comes the Girls with Bob Hope, It Ain't Hay with Abbott and Costello just to name a few. Mr. Spencer also appeared in Harlem Nights with Eddie Murphy, Ghost of a Chance with Dick Van Dyke and in Redd Foxx's Sanford and Son. BRIL BARRETT is a creative tap dancer, whose mission is to preserve and promote tap dance as a percussive art form, foster respect and admiration for the history and creators of tap, and continuously create opportunities for the art form and its practitioners.
Bril is the founder of M.A.D.D. (Making A Difference Dancing) Rhythms, Co-founder of M.A.D.D. Rhythms Canada, director of The Chicago Tap Summit and founder of The M.A.D.D. Rhythms Tap Academy. Performance opportunities include Riverdance, Tap Dance Kid, The St. Louis Tap Festival, The Calgary Tap Summit and many others. Bril has taught and/or performed in Canada, Germany, Finland, Turkey, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Albania, Amsterdam, and across the U.S. He has started many outreach programs in Chicago's public schools, Park districts and even a performing arts high school in Gary, Indiana. Dianne “Lady Di” Walker
She is considered a pioneer in the resurgence of tap dancing. Her twenty-eight year career spans Broadway, television, film and international dance concerts. Throughout the world of tap, she has been dubbed the "Ella Fitzgerald" of Tap Dance." The Boston Herald called her "America's First Lady of Tap" and in Dallas, “The Ballerina of Tap”. Savion Glover and his contemporaries affectionately call her “Aunt Dianne” in acknowledgment of her unique place as mentor, teacher and confidante. In appreciation of her personal style and elegance as a performer, as well as her eloquent and passionate commitment to the art of tap dance, her mentors and peers always refer to her as "Lady Di".
In 2006, Dianne's lifetime achievements were honored in Flint, Michigan. In 2005, she also received lifetime achievement recognition from the Vancouver Tap Dance Society. In 2004, Walker received the "Hoofers Award" from Tap City NYC and was also presented with an award at the Los Angeles Tap Dance Festival, in memory of Gregory Hines. That same year she was presented with The "Humanitarian Award" from Jason Samuels Smith of the Debbie Allen Dance Academy. On May 25, 2003, she received the “Flo-Bert Award” for Lifetime Achievement, presented by the New York Committee To Celebrate National Tap Dance Day. She received the “Savion Glover Award for Keeping the Beat Alive” in St. Louis, Missouri in 2000, and in 1998 she became the youngest dancer and first woman to receive the “Living Treasure in American Dance Award” from Oklahoma City University. Gregg Russell
This Emmy nominated choreographer has worked with such stars as Bette Midler, Gene Kelly, The Nicholas Brothers and Cedric the Entertainer. He directed a commercial for Carvel Ice cream and performed with numerous music artists including Reba McEntire, Smashmouth, Sugar Ray, Jason Mraz, the B-52's, Toni Basil and Alanis Morrisette. You might have seen him on television in "Even Stevens", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "Tonight Show " or national Gap commercials. Gregg was also featured on the cover of Dance Teacher Magazine as an entrepreneur who directs his own tap company titled "Tap Sounds Underground", owns the corporation 3D Dance Network, Inc. and is co-founder and editor in chief of the new music magazine for dancers called "Studio Beat". Robert L. Reed
Is a much sought after tap teacher, producer, choreographer, and performer. He's taught and performed all over the world. He received rave reviews for his teaching at Broadway Dance Center in NYC. For several years he served as Professor and Artist-In -Residence at a performing arts university. Mr. Reed is proficient at teaching many styles of tap and is the protégé of Maceo Anderson, a founding member of the Four Step Brothers dance act. Three of his young students, the St. Louis Hoofers reached the semi-finals on Star Search. He was with Riverdance as dance captain and toured as a principle. with Incognito in Europe. Reed was a featured artist at the Peg Leg Bates Resort and has toured with Cab Calloway. Mr. Reed has opened for such Luminaries as Sammy Davis Jr., Jerry Lewis, Redd Foxx, Cher, the Smothers Brothers and David Hasselhoff, just to name a very few. He is the founder and executive/artistic director of the internationally renowned St. Louis Tap Festival, which is now in it's 16th year. Reed is also the founder of the Robert L. Reed Tap Heritage Institute, Inc., a non-profit organization. He appears in the critically acclaimed Peg Leg Pates documentary Dancing with the Peg. He performs and travels worldwide. As two of the Six Feet of Rhythm he performed with his daughter Robin and his son Robert L. Reed III, who toured with Savion Glover in the international tour of "Bring in da Noise, Bring in da Funk". Robert hosted his own television show in Japan named for him Robert Hall, which recently featured Quentin Tarantino and Brittany Spears as guests. Robert Reed III
Two of the Six Feet Of Rhythm, with some of the fastest feet in the business, has danced all over the United States with tap greats such as Savion Glover, Jimmy Slyde, Henry LeTang, The Nicholas Brothers, Cholly Atkins, Dianne Walker, and Van Porter. Robert most recently toured with Savion Glover in the International tour of Bring in ‘Da Noise, Bring in ‘Da Funk, and appeared as a headliner in the 2nd annual Duisburg Tap Festival in Germany. Rod Ferrone
Is an actor/dancer/singer/hat trickster, who has been performing for over 20 years. He has danced for the stage, film and television and has performed with some of the legends of the tap world and entertainment world including
Gregory Hines, Henny Youngman, Cab Calloway, and Jimmy Slyde, among others. He was one-half of the comedy duo Hot Foot, whose critically acclaimed show "Scorch Marks on the Floor" was seen the world over. He performed on Broadway in the groundbreaking smash hit "Urban Tap." He has toured extensively with "Cool Heat Urban Beat," a fusion of tap and hip-hop, to which he contributed some of the choreography. He is also co-star of Feet 2 The Beat, which he founded in 1996 and which has played worldwide.

Angela Carter
Angela Carter is now starting to wow audiences throughout the country. A native of Toledo, Ohio, she graduated from the University of Toledo, and now resides in Los Angeles.
She has performed and choreographed for the opening act of singing artist, Mary J. Blige and performed for the N.A.A.C.P. Awards! Angie has worked with Brian Friedman and Nick Florez on a music video for Brittany Murphy. Her rhythmic style shined on the WB “Junior Achievement Awards” television show, and the stage productions of Dancers Unite 1,2 and 3. Her versatile energy can be seen on the independent short film “M-O-V-I-E”, directed by Phil Dornfeld (Scary Movie 3) shown at the Sundance Film Festival and the tap show “Sealed With a Kiss,” presented by Mark Goodman. Currently, she is a principal member of Gregg Russell’s Tap Sounds Underground.
Angela travels throughout country teaching master classes and working for various conventions, studios and organizations including VIP, Dance Caravan, 3D Dance Network , Dance Olympus, Dancers Alliance, Fusion Entertainment, Edge Performing Arts Center and Dance Masters. She is featured in the live tap shows, “7 Days Underground” and “Elemental Sound!” and can be seen in a commercial for Carvel Ice Cream. Angela performed in a New York benefit for African children entitled “Esther’s Aid.” She recently performed with Chloe Arnold’s Syncopated Ladies in “Next Generation Tap,” presented by Lynn Daly’s Jazz Tap Ensemble. Her most recent performance includes the Los Angeles Tap Festival annual show, directed by Jason Samuels Smith and Chloe Arnold. She also worked as the Assistant Director of Gregg Russell’s Dancers Unite 3 and Tap Into the Network 3.
Angela has had the pleasure of assisting the late greats Al Gilbert, Pat Rico and Henry LeTang. She performs regularly alongside current greats like Jason Samuels Smith, Chloe Arnold, Bril Barrett, Joseph Wiggan, Gregg Russell, Sarah Reich, and many more. Denise Caston
Has been a Radio City Rockette since 1997 and toured nationally with the Tony Award winning musical, Crazy For You. Denise has also had the honor of performing the choreography of Savion Glover at a showcase in New York City. She performed on tour in Australia in 2002, dancing all over the continent in Elvis to the Max. Denise’s credits also include film, commercials, and industrials.
Teaching credits include classes at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway, two of the largest dance studios in the country, as well as The Rockette Experience© at Radio City Music Hall. Her choreography has been seen in many productions in which she also performed at Casino Windsor in Ontario, Canada. The winner of the talent portion of the Miss Michigan Pageant in 2002 performed Ms. Caston's choreography, as did the runner-up to Jr. Mr. Dance of America (Dance Masters of America) in 2000, along with other local and national scholarship competition winners.
Denise grew up dancing in the metropolitan Detroit area, where she had a role in coordinating the Detroit Tap Festival and got to study with luminaries such as Dianne Walker, Robert Reed, Van Porter, LaVaughn Robinson, Lane Alexander, Cholly Atkins, and many more. She was also the Project Manager for Tradition In Tap, Inc., an organization dedicated to preserving the history of tap dance through semi-annual workshops in New York City. Students attend from all over the world to learn original choreography from the masters themselves or their protégés.
